Competition: win a film favourite daily with the 10 Days of Christmas Movies prize draw from Sky!

The festive season is upon us, and to celebrate Broadband Genie has partnered with Sky Movies for a brilliant yuletide competition - the 10 Days of Christmas Movies!

Sky Movies is the place to go for great movies at Christmas. New releases premiering this month include Robert Downey Jr’s awesome superhero sequel Iron Man 3, the hilarious Wreck-It Ralph and the animated family fun of Arthur Christmas.

Sky Movies is also the only place to see Will Ferrell’s modern classic Elf this Christmas, as Sky has the exclusive rights.

And throughout the month Sky Movie subscribers will get access to the Sky Movies Christmas channel showing back-to-back favourites all December, including classics like National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, Jingle All the Way and The Muppet Christmas Carol.

Movie subscribers can also catch up on the move by viewing select titles via the Sky Go service for tablets, smartphones and laptops.

If you’re not currently a Sky Movies subscriber you can take advantage of a special half price offer - sign up now and you’ll get it for only £8 per month for six months. This is open to both new and existing customers. Remember, if you’re completely new to Sky your package will also include a free Sky+HD box.

For the next couple of weeks the Broadband Genie team will be selecting a favourite Christmas movie and giving it away on DVD or Blu-ray (depending on your preference and availability of the titles) to a lucky winner every day!

There’s no limit on how many times you can enter throughout the event so if you’re not in luck that day you can just try again. Check back on this page or keep an eye out on Twitter for the new movie and related question.

The competition starts on the 3rd of December and runs each working day until Monday the 16th of December.

We've asked our team to select their top Xmas flicks, and you get the chance to win a copy of each on Blu-ray or DVD. Check back each day for the new question!

Tuesday 3rd of December

Lewis Johnson, Account Manager

Christmas favourite: Home Alone

"My favourite has to be Home Alone, I have many fond memories of sitting down to watch this with my family after Christmas dinner. Now marred slightly by Macaulay Culkin's tragic life trajectory, and it's a shame he hasn't done much since. Still, cracking film."

Winner: @fripfoll

Wednesday 4th

Gillian Nightingale, Commercial Manager

Christmas favourite: How the Grinch Stole Christmas

"It's great because it's almost as good as the original Dr Seuss book which my kids loved when they were young. And the Whos have really weird turned up noses - which we always try and recreate!"

Winner: @shoppingdiva1

Thursday 5th

Lizzie Long, UX/web designer

Christmas favourite: Meet Me in St Louis

"I like to watch "Meet me in St Louis" while I'm doing my Christmas wrapping. It's a feel good classic. My favourite bit is when Judy Garland sings "have yourself a merry little Christmas" (the original and only version worth my time) and then Tootie smashes up the snow family. Gets me every time. *wipes away a tear*"

Winner: Lynne O'Connor

Friday 6th

Rob Hilborn, Marketing Manager

Christmas favourite: National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation

"I'm going to have to go for the National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. It's my favourite as I watch it every year with my family on Christmas Eve whilst drinking a nice mulled wine. It also has some amazing quotes which I like to use throughout the year. Just like the Jelly of the Month Club, it's the gift that keeps on giving."

Winner: Jane Willis

Monday 9th

Chris Marling, Senior Editor

Christmas favourite: The Polar Express

"Alongside Elf I think 'The Polar Express' is the only Christmas film made in the last decade that really hits the mark. Its charming and magical, has the right message, and just beats Elf for me by dint of being set on a train. My dad is big into steam trains, and nothing says Christmas quite like enjoying TV on the sofa with your family after too much dinner."

Question: The Polar Express is an adaption of a children's book published in 1985. Who was the author?
