Siemens a 15.000 funcionarios del hacha: informe

Siemens will deliver dismissal of 15,000 staff over the next year as part of restructuring efforts to improve the balance sheet of the company and reduce operating costs.

The engineering giant, said on Sunday that 15,000 employees of both their headquarters abroad and German could lose their positions. According to Reuters, a spokesman has not identified for Siemens said that one-third of the jobs due to be cut will come from Germany, and 10,000 will be branches abroad.

The restructuring has been under discussion by the company recently, Siemens said no will achieve the objectives of profit by 2013. The company admitted earlier this year that achieve a profit margin of 12 per cent in the fiscal year of 2014 is unlikely, due to "lower expectations of market."

Attempts to direct the firm back profitability have included appointing as its new executive director Joe Kaeser and allowing that Ralf Thomas to take over its chief financial officer. However, the 6 billion euros ($8.1 billion) restructuring plans were drawn up by former, CEO Peter Loescher toppled at the end of last year.

Loescher was removed from his post in July after poor financial results this year. The former President was with Siemens for six years, before poor global demand for German products exports slipping to the lowest rate registered since May 2009. An Oversight Committee then voted for his early departure.

According to the spokesman, Europe's largest engineering company and the trade unions have reached an agreement on about half of the job cuts and a deal is expected that it will be achieved with respect to the rest. The firm does not plan to implement layoffs and instead asked employees accept attrition and voluntary agreements.

Siemens currently represents approximately 370,000 workers worldwide.

In August, Nokia Siemens Networks announced that Siemens sold its stake of 50 percent in the company, vale la pena €1.7 billion ($2 estadounidenseshan). While Director Ejecutivo Rajeev Suri will stay on as Chief and President of the company, up to 8,500 jobs could be reduced at the end of 2014.
